I always prefer Nvidia over ATI
For a moderate price in AGP see if you can still find anything in the 6800 gt range. Decent card.

If you really want to fork over the dough go with the 8800 GTX but it is only PCIE.

The 7900 series is good but if you going to dish out that much money then you might as well go 8800.
